1. Introduction

This policy describes how PassInterview (passinterview.app, the "Website") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the service. By accessing and using the Website, you agree to this policy.

2. Information collected

The Website collects the following types of information:

  • Account information: display name, email address, and avatar shared by Google or GitHub when you sign in (OAuth), plus any avatar you upload yourself.
  • Usage data: bookmarked questions, learning progress, quiz results, streaks, review history, and personalization preferences.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device, operating system, access time, and pages viewed.
  • Region: the country inferred from your IP address when you visit, kept on your profile for usage statistics; the IP address itself is not stored on your profile.
  • Payment data: order ID, selected plan, amount, transaction time, and the reference code returned by the payment gateway. Payment is by bank transfer; the Website never receives or stores your banking credentials.
  • CVs you upload for analysis: the CV file, its extracted text, and the analysis results are kept in your history. You can delete each CV and each result at any time.
  • Feedback and bug reports: what you submit, your email (if you leave one), and any attached screenshot.
  • Notification data: your in-app notification history and, if you enable push notifications, the endpoint address and encryption keys issued by your browser for web push delivery. This contains no browsing content or location data.
  • Content you post and your profile page: posts, reviews, comments, and likes are shown publicly. Your public profile always shows your name and avatar; points, rank, streak, and practised topics appear only while "Show my stats to others" is on in Account settings.
  • AI feature data: what you exchange with the AI assistant (Cú), in CV analysis, and during a mock interview, plus the history of those sessions (see section 7).

3. How information is used

Personal information is used for the following purposes:

  • Provide and maintain Website features (sync bookmarks and progress across devices, activate Pro plans).
  • Analyze and improve user experience through anonymized data.
  • Detect fraud and abuse, and keep the system secure.
  • Send transactional email (welcome, order confirmation, Pro expiry reminders) and the occasional offer once your Pro plan has expired.
  • Send in-app notifications and push notifications (if enabled): order status, Pro plan expiry, learning milestones, community interactions, and new features. Non-transactional push is limited to once per day; you can turn it off anytime in Account → Settings or in your browser settings.
  • Review submitted content and handle feedback and bug reports to maintain overall Website quality.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The Website uses cookies and similar storage technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage) for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: keep you signed in, store theme and language preferences.
  • Analytics cookies: measure traffic and user behaviour anonymously.
  • Advertising cookies: set by Google AdSense and partners to display relevant ads (see section 6).
  • You can manage or delete cookies via browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect your experience.

5. Third-party analytics services

To understand how users interact with the Website, the following analytics tools are used:

  • Google Analytics 4: collects anonymous usage data. See Google’s policy at policies.google.com/privacy or install the opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Our hosting provider’s page performance tool: measures load speed and traffic without cookies and without personal identification.

6. Google AdSense advertising

The Website is a Google AdSense partner. The following describes how Google and third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads:

  • Google is a third-party vendor and uses cookies to serve ads on the Website, including the DART cookie which enables Google to serve ads based on your visits to this Website and other websites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of the DART cookie via Google’s advertising policy page: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
  • You may disable personalised ads from Google at adssettings.google.com.
  • For ads from other AdSense network partners, you can opt out centrally at aboutads.info/choices (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (Europe).
  • Pro users (Monthly or Lifetime) never see ads on the Website.

7. AI features

The AI assistant (Cú), CV analysis, AI mock interviews, and the post moderation step run on third-party AI models; speech recognition also uses a third-party service. What you enter into these features — including your CV and your voice when you turn on the microphone — is sent to the provider to generate a response and is retained under that provider’s own policy.

  • For that reason, do not enter confidential information, other people’s personal data, or your employer’s internal material into the AI features. Consider masking your phone number and home address on your CV before uploading it.
  • Your chats with Cú and your CV analysis results are kept so you can revisit them; you can delete them from the corresponding history view.

8. Sharing information with third parties

The Website does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Information is only shared with the service providers needed to operate the Website:

  • Cloud infrastructure providers: hosting for the Website, its database, and files (avatars, attached screenshots, CV files).
  • Sign-in, analytics, and advertising services: Google and GitHub when you sign in; Google Analytics and Google AdSense (see section 5 and section 6).
  • Payment gateway: confirms bank transfers so your Pro plan can be activated.
  • Email delivery service: sends transactional email such as order confirmations and Pro expiry reminders.
  • AI and speech recognition providers: process what you use in the AI features (see section 7).
  • Internal communication tools: feedback, bug reports, and new orders are forwarded to the Website operator for timely handling.
  • You can request the specific list of providers processing your data by emailing nguyendangdinh47@gmail.com.
  • Some of these providers host servers outside Vietnam, so data may be processed abroad, solely for the purposes described in this policy.
  • When required by lawful requests from competent authorities under Vietnamese law.

9. Storage and security

Data is stored on the cloud infrastructure of the providers in section 8, with standard protections:

  • Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
  • No passwords are stored: sign-in is via Google or GitHub (OAuth), and the Website has no passwords of its own.
  • CV files are stored under random paths that are never sent to the browser, and can only be opened through your account on the Website.
  • Data is retained while the account is active. After you request account deletion, data is removed within 30 days.

10. Your rights

Under Vietnam’s Law on Personal Data Protection No. 91/2025/QH15 and Decree 356/2025/NĐ-CP (both effective 1 January 2026), you have the following rights:

  • Right to be informed about the processing of your personal data.
  • Right to access, view, and correct your personal information on the Account page.
  • Right to withdraw consent — for example turning off push notifications, hiding your stats on your profile page, or deleting a saved CV.
  • Right to request deletion of personal data and account closure.
  • Right to object to or restrict the processing of personal data.
  • Right to lodge a complaint with competent authorities if you believe your rights have been violated.
  • To exercise these rights, email nguyendangdinh47@gmail.com. The Website responds within 7 business days.

11. Children’s privacy

The Website is not directed at and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If it learns that it has collected information from a child, that information is deleted immediately. Parents or guardians who discover that their child has provided personal data should get in touch for removal assistance.

12. Links to external websites

The Website may contain links to third-party websites. This policy does not apply to those sites. Please review their privacy policies before providing any information.

13. Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated when the service changes or as required by law. The latest version is always posted on this page with an effective date. Continued use of the Website after an update means you accept the changes.
